Background:
Sanchit is a PhD student in Northwestern University under the guidance of Prof. Choudhary since September, 2006. He got a B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, India in May, 2005. Sanchit went to Intel, Portland for internship in the summer of 2007. Before joining Northwestern University, he worked at Trilogy, Bangalore, India for a year. During the course of his undergraduate studies he has had summer internships at INRIA, France (2004), and Advanced VLSI laboratory, IIT Kharagpur (2003). When he is not working, Sanchit likes hiking, singing, dancing and playing and watching cricket.
Research Interests:
High Speed Sequence Alignment for Next Generation Sequencers : looking for algorithmic, parallel computing, hardware implementation approaches to achieve efficient sequence alignment techniques; Data Mining and it's application in Bioinformatics and Proteomics, Acceleration of data mining kernels using hardware/software techniques, Application Specific Computer Architecture.
