Background:
Arifa is pursuing her Ph.D at Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Northwestern University since Fall 2006. In summer 2008 she worked as a summer intern at IBM Research Almaden. She obtained givens associate fellowship from Mathematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne National Laboratary in summer 2007. Previously she has worked as software engineer at Real Time Operating System Division at Mentor Graphics Lahore, Pakistan from 2003 to 2006. Earlier she has received her BS degree from Dept. of Electrical Engineering at University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, Pakistan in 2002.
Research Interests:
Parallel File Systems, High Performance Parallel I/O, User level Cache.
In particular Design and implementation of end-to-end high-performance and scalable parallel I/O systems, which provide high performance, collaborative cache support, quick data availability, transparency, and management capabilities for peta-scale and beyond systems.
